Special NEA Assessment Event with Rick Stiggins
On Dec. 5 at 7 p.m. (ET), join NEA Vice President Princess Moss, MTA Vice President Deb McCarthy, and bestselling author Rick Stiggins for a webinar to discuss Rick’s latest book, “Give Our Students the Gift of Confidence: It’s Essential for Learning Success.” We will discuss how educators can use classroom-level assessment as a cause of learning that can be a key source of student confidence.

In this special event for NEA members, Rick Stiggins will share important lessons learned from his career—most importantly, how to cultivate a sense of belonging in school to support students in becoming confident, lifelong learners. Members will have a chance to engage with Rick and ask questions about his recommendation that educators and students work as partners using assessment for learning so that students can monitor and manage their growth over time. Spaces are limited, so be sure and register today!

(OR GREAT STUFF WE HEARD OR SAW LAST WEEK!)

Thursday at 1st grade lunch the students received popsicles for November birthdays. They had thick white paper so you cant see the color inside. Our friend Nash got upset because he didn't get the color he wanted and walked away. Mind you, Nash just got new glasses. So I was talking to Nash and I told him maybe we can see if Mr Russ can help us find his color in the packaging, but it was really hard to see inside them without opening. And Nash goes, "Well maybe I can give him my glasses so he can see better!" HAHA..But his friend didn't want his and worked out Nash got his color!! :) Happy Monday.

Thanks to Victoria Miller for sharing this story!!!

Please email me to share your funny stories, moments, and quotes (from kids or adults) so I can include them!!! (Ask permission first, please!)

Just a reminder that it's ok if you feel this way at this time of year!!!

Thanks for all you do!
