Anyone can give a SHOUT OUT to anyone, so please send those positive notes to me and I'll publish each Monday!

Discipline Corner

Our kids face challenges and therefore can be challenging.

A key to effective classroom management is

We've shared a TON of resources to help share ways to set clear expectations, implement logical consequences, use proximity, all while we build relationships. I hope this has been helpful to each and every classroom, and I also expect to see these practices in place...they are best for kids.

Thanks to Amanda Lorenz, we now have a folder of the resources (attachments and videos) all here for you at one click! It's so nice to have all these in once place!!!! This way, you can set up a Drive folder where you can access the information and not scramble to go back and search through the Monday Memos for what you need.

Maddie Out!
FYI, Maddie will be out this week to get ready for her WEDDING!!! She's getting married on
Saturday, so is using this week to get all ready. If you need anything, please reach out to Mary
Taylor or me and we are happy to assist.

Clarification
You can use the absence reason "Sick Day--Immediate Family" as you need. If a family
member's illness will extend beyond 3 days, then PLEASE work with Maddie, Mary, or me to
see if FMLA is something you can use. We're happy to help, but FMLA cannot be used until/
unless arranged and approved by the Business Office.

TOSA Corner
iReady usage should be back on track now that testing is complete. The usage data looks great!

iReady Proficiency Goal= 80% of our students receive 70% or higher on their lessons

5. Have An Accountability Partner // I am a huge believer in accountability, as it helps you to always have a friend and someone who will help you stay on track with your goals. Reach out to a close friend and offer up the opportunity to be accountability partners. You can have an accountability partner for really anything, but definitely, have one who will check in with you to see how you’re doing with self-care and whatever goals you’re working on. It’s always nice to have someone to lean on!

Heather's Reflection Question:
Who is your accountability partner? How do they help you stay on course? If you don't yet have one, who could you ask?

Erin CJ shared this with me this week, and it made my heart smile. She had kids WRITING in Music, and they created haiku poetry. Check out the power of this student's words and the images he chose to create to go with them...

Let's make it an awesome week!
