Welcome to 2018-19!!!!!

Thanks to EVERYONE who helped in any way with the Registration/Residency event on August 1 and 2! This was amazing teamwork and made a HUGE difference for our district!

To the amazing 16 staff members who spent 3 days of their summer attending the PLC Institute Hybrid at Wauconda! It was great learning, and I can't wait to see where we ALL go because of this team stepping up and helping us get even better!

To the Custodial staff at both buildings for all your hard work this summer! With room moves, summer cleaning, ESY, and projects, I know your plates were very full. The buildings look great, and we all so appreciate it!

to the Mental Health team for coordinating the Second Step training and to everyone who attended!!! This is a change maker for our students!

To everyone who led or participated in summer curriculum work and trainings! It was so cool to see everything you did!!

To the Administrative Team for all your hard work and being such a great team! I'm so glad I get to work with you!

To the ESY team--what a great month of learning for our most needy students! Your time and talents are truly appreciated!

To Norm Fischer, Russ Xhemaili, and Jeff Sefcik for spending a Sunday morning making sure we didn't lose anything when the Stanton freezer went down. Thanks for giving 110%...and yes, I owe you all a McDonald's breakfast!

To Andrea DeMatteo for making miracles happen to get the bus routes all loaded...and for being smarter than the trainer to figure out we needed a "redo" from Traversa!
-All from Heather

I'd love to give kudos to the scheduling committee - I'm excited for the changes in the schedule this year!
Thanks,
Kelli Kuehn
When you have a kudo to share for someone, please just email me and I'll include it here! The goal is to create system celebrations--so your input is truly welcome!

Questions for thought...
How does this map illustrate how we work as a District?
What are we doing well?
How can we get even better?

MARK YOUR CALENDAR!!! D114 has 2 tables reserved for Trivia Night!!! Who's in???

Also, the RD Sayles Foundation is planning a fabulous event! The first part of the event is all about saying THANK YOU to our staff! Some details so far...

October 26
Happy hour - snacks right after school
Free drink / Drink specials
Activities (maybe pumpkin carving contest, minnow races etc.)
Main Event-
Fundraising event starting after teacher happy hour - including silent and live auction items
We may ask for classroom or grade level projects to be auctioned off at the event - maybe Halloween related decorations - i.e. a large tree with colored leaves with all of the students names on them or a graveyard scene with funny things on the tombstones, pumpkin patch with each student making little pumpkins for the patch.

More details to come as I have them! Let me know if you have ideas or input!

I am SO excited to start another year in D114 and blessed to get to work with each of you. I can't wait to see what we do together...and please know that, if I can help in any way or if you have ideas, don't hesitate to reach out. The collaboration in our team is what makes this such a special place!

Let's make this an amazing year!
One Team, All In!

ALL MEANS ALL!
