The 4th grade team would like to send kudos to all the classes that participated in making the positive posters and pictures for our 3rd and 4th graders during IAR testing. Our kids were excited to see them on their lockers and in the hallway! Such a sweet, kind, and very thoughtful gesture.

Summer Curriculum Work

Hello!!! Just reminding you that it's that time of year...when I ask for your ideas and proposals for summer curriculum work!  THANK YOU to the teams who have already sent in ideas! WOW....amazing!!!!! 

Here's WHAT: Summer Curriculum Writing: What do YOU want to work on this summer?  Example Projects: *Using Flash Back (will be created during upcoming CTT time) to plan to Flash Forward for next year *SST Planning *Fencepost work, including 3-2-1 unit designs and 15 day challenge plans *UFLI training *Stuff YOU want to work on!

Here's How: Email Heather: Name(s) Purpose of the work/intended outcomes Proposed number of hours Proposed schedule and plan for work Notes: Work must be completed onsite. Artifacts of the work must be shared with Heather. Timesheets must be completed, and pay rate is $34 per hour.

2023-24 Budget Requests--Sending in a separate email as well!

Here is a document to use if you have specific budget requests for the 2023-24 school year. This DOES NOT include your supply money--that's a whole different thing.  If you have already submitted a request, you DO NOT NEED TO RESUBMIT. I'd appreciate receiving all requests by Friday, June 4. If you need more time, please let me know. 

As always, we'll do our best to meet the students' needs in the most fiscally responsible ways. 

When you use the document, remember...

Welcome Back! We hope everyone had a wonderful spring break!

Union Articulation Reminder: Our next union articulation meeting will be at Stanton on Wednesday, April 12 @ 2:00 PM. Please do not arrive earlier than 1:45 PM, to help the dismissal traffic flow at Stanton. 

Items we will be discussing: 

- negotiations

- elections for the Union Board

- end of the year activities

- additional updates

Also...There will be a special treat for all attendees!  

Finally, please remember that union members are expected to be at the meeting, as the district is giving us time to meet, so the expectation is that you are at the meeting during this time and that is how your day finishes.

Lake County Educator of the Year Event!!!

Please see information on this year's event! I'd love to see some great D114 representation to share our awesomeness!!!! 

PLEASE CONSIDER COMPLETING A NOMINATION, AND LET ME KNOW HOW I CAN HELP!

Paper or electronic nomination packets are due to the ROE by Friday, March 24, 2023. 

The Lake County Regional Office of Education will be hosting the second annual Educator of the Year Ceremony. The Ceremony will be held at the Lake County Fairgrounds on May 10th, at 5:30 pm. There will be a social hour with dinner. The awards ceremony will take place after the dinner. Ticket information will be provided at a later date.

The Educator of the Year Ceremony will resemble a mini Oscars like celebration. I have included all of the information in this email. The information can also be found on the ROE shared drive under the Educator of the Year folder and on the ROE website under the tab Educator of the Year. We will be honoring paraprofessionals this year as our special guest. The ROE will pay for 1 paraprofessional's dinner from each school district. The district can bring other paraprofessionals if they would like to be honored.

There will be 9 categories for nominations. Districts can submit as many nominations for the categories, but all the paperwork must be included for each nomination to be considered. Paper or electronic nomination packets are due to the ROE by Friday, March 17, 2023.

Mark your calendars!  Wednesday, April 12 will be our spring Union Articulation Meeting. We will meet at Stanton with a meeting time of 2:00 PM.

Please remember to arrive after 1:45 to keep the Stanton Dismissal safe and smooth moving. We will have treats for everyone and our big topics will include elections for this year, some opportunities to get involved and negotiations. Please plan on attending if you are a union member, as we are given this contract time to meet.
